    The steps to be followed for NEET UG counseling are the following: 

    1. Release of seat matrix: the seat matrix is released by the Medical Counselling Committee for the MBBS/BDS courses for the participating universities offering 15% seats for AIQ.
    2. Registration: the candidates have to register for NEET 2024 counseling for each round, except the stray vacancy round. The candidates have to fill in all the necessary details and have to pay the non-refundable registration fees and refundable security deposit.
    3. Choice filling: the candidates have to select the colleges according to their preferences. The candidates have to log on to the MCC website and fill in the choices.
    4. Choice locking: after filling in the preferred choices the candidate must lock their choices and must not wait till the last minute.
    5. Verification by the universities and seat allotment: the universities will verify the registration details and choices filled by the candidates.
    6. Seat allotment results: Medical Counselling Committee will release the first provisional results and the candidates will be allowed to raise objections if any and then the final results will be released. Based on the seat allotment, the candidates will have to report at the allotted institution or they may 
    7. Documents upload: after the seat allotment, the candidates have to upload the documents to the Medical Counselling Committee website
    8. Institute reporting: the candidate has to report to the allotted institute with the documents required for the verification and the admission fee is to be paid.

    How do you take admission for the state quota?

    After the results of NEET 2025, the prospectus for MBBS/BDS  admissions will be issued by the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination  (JKBOPEE). Their website is https://www.jkbopee.gov.in/, and candidates must fill out the application form from the website itself. In this, admission is given by the Jammu and Kashmir board of professional entrance examinations (JKBOPEE) by conducting first-round counseling online, second-round and third-round counseling in offline mode (Physical).

    The following documents will be required while filling out the online application form:-

    1) Domicile Certificate (or undertaken by candidates on plain paper stating that he/she shall produce the same at the time of counseling, and for candidates belonging to UT of Ladakh, ST Certificate shall be treated as Domicile Certificate).

    2) NEET Score Card

    3) Matriculation Certificate for date of birth and 10+2 Marks Certificate.

    First Round Counseling:-

    This round of counseling is conducted in an online mode. After the registration is done by the candidate, they have to fill in the choices. After filling out the choices, the provisional merit list is issued and candidates are allotted seats according to their choices. If a seat is allocated to the candidate in the first round at the Jammu and Kashmir board of professional entrance examinations, then they have to go to the allotted college to submit the required documents, and all the other admission formalities have to be done.

    After the seat is allotted in the first round, the candidate must join it. In case the candidate does not fill the seat in the first round, they cannot participate in the second round. 

    After joining the seat in the first round, the candidate may upgrade their seat if they want at the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations. If any candidate does not get a seat allotted in the first round, they must wait for the second round. 

    Second Round Counseling:-

    The second round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the first round of counseling. But there are very few seats that remain vacant in the second round. Candidates who have secured the seats in the first round can update their seats in the second round. 

    New registration is not open in this round. This round of counseling is conducted in an offline mode. If any candidate does not get any seat allotted in this round, they must wait till the mop-up round. After seat allotment, the admission formalities are the same as in the first round.

    3rd / Mop Up round Counseling:-

    This round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the second round of counseling. This round is also conducted in the physical mode. round. In this round, only those candidates are eligible who have not received a seat in the first round and the second round at the Jammu and Kashmir board of professional entrance examinations. The candidates who got a seat allotted in the first round but did not join are eligible for this round, but the candidates who got a seat allotted in the second round but did not join are not eligible for this round.
