Counselling and Reservation for Admission to MBBS,

Admission Procedure

1. All admissions to Undergraduate Medical/Dental Courses will be based on NEET (UG) – 2025. The seats available are categorized under various quotas as follows:

* All India Quota Seats

* State Government Quota Seats

* Seats for admission to Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities

* State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical/Dental Colleges or Private Universities

* Central Pool Quota Seats

* All seats, including those under NRI and Management Quotas, are available in private unaided or aided minority/non-minority medical colleges.

* Seats are also available for admission to AIIMS Institutes across India and JIPMER.

* Counselling for successful candidates will be held for seats under the 15% All India Quota and 100% of seats (including 85% State quota) in Central Institutions (such as ABVIMS & RML Hospital, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, ESIC), Central Universities (including DU, BHU, AMU), AIIMS, JIPMER, and Deemed Universities by MCC/DGHS for Undergraduate Medical/Dental Courses.MCC handles the registration process for AFMC and sends the details of registered candidates to AFMC Authorities for the admission process.DU, BHU, and other Universities may also use the NEET scores for other relevant courses they offer.

2. The counselling for admission to seats governed by State Governments, UT Administrations, State Universities, and Institutions will be organized by the respective designated authorities, in accordance with the notifications issued by the concerned authorities.

3. The NEET (UG) – 2025 results may be used by various entities of the Central and State Governments, following their specific eligibility criteria, regulations, and guidelines. The results will also be applicable for B.Sc. (H) Nursing courses based on their respective requirements. Additionally, the NEET (UG) – 2025 results will be utilized for admissions to BVSc & AH courses under the 15% quota of VCI in accredited Veterinary Colleges. However, the Veterinary Council must contact the MCC of DGHS, MoHFW to obtain the result data.

NOTE :- Aspiring candidates for the BSc Nursing Course at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals in 2025 must qualify NEET. The NEET score will be used to shortlist candidates for selection to the four-year B.Sc Nursing course.

1. During counselling, the eligibility criteria, self-declarations, and all uploaded documents of eligible candidates will be verified according to the norms set by the respective authorities and/or Medical/Dental Colleges.

2. The All-India Ayush Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) will serve as the counselling authority for the All India Quota (AIQ) for BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses under NCISM. AACCC will also act as the counselling authority for the AIQ for BHMS under NCH.

1. An All India Merit List will be created based on the All India Rank from the NEET (UG) – 2025, and candidates will be admitted to Undergraduate Medical Courses according to this list, following the current reservation policy. NTA will provide the All India Rank, and the Admitting Authorities will call for applications for counselling. They will then prepare a merit list based on the All India Rank. Admissions to Undergraduate Medical Courses in each category will be based entirely on the All India Rank as per the NEET (UG) – 2025 merit list.

* Admission to State Medical Colleges, Universities, Institutions, and private medical colleges for seats other than the 15% All India Quota will be as follows:

* Admission to State Quota Seats will be subject to the reservation policies and eligibility criteria set by the respective State or Union Territory, as updated periodically.

* The reservation of seats for different categories in medical colleges will be in accordance with the laws applicable in the respective State or Union Territory.

* Admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses in Private Medical Colleges will follow the policies set by the Government of India, State, or Union Territory.

2. Admission to AIIMS, JIPMER, Central Universities (DU, BHU, AMU), AFMC, GGSIPU, ESIC Medical Colleges, Deemed Universities, and other institutions:

* Counselling for MBBS, BDS, and similar courses in AIIMS, JIPMER, Central Universities (including DU, GGSIPU, BHU, AMU), ESIC Medical Colleges, PGIMER, and Deemed Universities will be conducted by DGHS. The reservation policy will be in accordance with the rules and regulations specific to each University or Institution. Candidates seeking admission to these courses based on their All India Rank (AIR) in NEET (UG) – 2025 must register on the MCC website after the NEET result is declared. Once registered, the list of candidates will be forwarded to AFMC authorities for their counselling process.

3. Admission to AFMC, Pune will follow the guidelines set by the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Candidates applying for NEET (UG) – 2025 and seeking admission to AFMC must also apply separately on the AFMC website at https://afmc.nic.in/. Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a second-stage screening test conducted by AFMC. Candidates should reach out to AFMC for precise details. The MCC of DGHS will only handle the registration for counselling, while the allotment process will be managed by AFMS authorities.

4. Admission to medical colleges under Central Universities (DU, BHU, AMU), ESIC Medical Colleges, and AFMC will be in accordance with the statutory regulations of NMC/DCI, the provisions of Deemed Universities, relevant rulings of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, and the procedures established by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

5. Additionally, the DGHS will conduct common counselling for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in the respective INIs, following the timeline outlined in the applicable Graduate Medical Education Regulation (1997), as updated periodically.

6. For all institutions where counselling is managed by MCC under DGHS, candidates should refer to the counselling scheme available on the MCC website to verify their eligibility for subsequent counselling rounds. This includes eligibility criteria related to ineligibility due to seat allocation in previous rounds, as outlined in Regulation 5A(4) of the Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 1997, which aims to prevent seat blocking during the common counselling process for MBBS admissions.

7. For institutions where counselling is conducted by the State/Union Government or its designated authority, candidates should refer to the counselling notifications issued by the respective authorities to determine their eligibility for subsequent rounds. This includes eligibility regarding ineligibility due to seat allotment in previous rounds, as per Regulation 5A(4) of the Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 1997, which prevents seat blocking during the common counselling process for MBBS admissions.

8. The security deposit of candidates who fail to join the seats allocated to them by MCC in Round-2 or any subsequent rounds will be forfeited.

9. MCC does not modify, edit, or alter any information (such as name, date of birth, category, caste, contact details, etc.) provided by candidates during the online application/registration process for counselling, under any circumstances. The data entered by the candidate during registration on the NTA portal will be pre-filled and used for counselling purposes.

Reservation Policy for Admission to MBBS and BDS Course

Indian nationals from specific categories are granted admission under the seats reserved for them, in line with the rules established by the Government of India. The categories and the degree of reservation are as follows:

1. The General category candidates from the Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS) are allotted 10% of the seats in every course. Reservation benefits will only be provided to those General category candidates who meet the conditions outlined in OM No. 20013/01/2018-BCII dated 17th January 2019, issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The criteria for GEN-EWS will be in accordance with the current norms and/or notifications from the Government of India.

2. Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC- NCL) – 27% of seats in every course.

* OBC-NCL candidates must be included in the latest updated central list of OBC-NCL (available at http://www.ncbc.nic.in).

* OBC-NCL listed in the State list but not included in the central list of OBC-NCL (as per the list on http://www.ncbc.nic.in) are not eligible for reservation.

* The criteria for OBC-NCL will follow the Government of India’s notification.

* Candidates from the creamy layer of OBC are not eligible for reservation. These candidates are considered part of the general (GEN) category and can only apply for GEN seats, which are open to all candidates.

3. Scheduled Caste (SC) – 15% of seats in every course.

4. Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 7.5% of seats in every course.

5. Persons with Disability (PwBD) – 5% seats in each of GEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST category seats (Horizontal reservation).

* Candidates seeking to avail of PwBD reservation for admission to Undergraduate Courses will be governed by the NMC guidelines (Appendix-VI) and any future amendments.

For Candidates claiming the GEN-EWS category

The candidate must have a valid GEN-EWS certificate, meeting the conditions outlined in OM No. 20013/01/2018-BC-II dated 17 January 2019, issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, in accordance with the latest Government of India guidelines for claiming seats under the GEN-EWS category.

For Candidates claiming the OBC-NCL category

The candidate must have a valid OBC-NCL certificate, in line with the most recent guidelines from the Government of India, to claim seats under the OBC-NCL category. For the latest guidelines and updates on the Central List of State-wise OBCs, visit http://www.ncbc.nic.in.

For Candidates claiming the SC or ST category

The candidate must have a valid SC/ST certificate, in accordance with the latest guidelines from the Government of India, to claim seats under the SC/ST category.

Provisions relating to Persons with Disability (PwD)/ Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) (For the purpose of appearing in the NEET Examination):

The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016:

The Gazette of India, Extraordinary Part-II Section 1, issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice (Legislative Department) in New Delhi on 28 December 2016, pertains to “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.” The relevant sections of this Gazette Notification for consideration are as follows:

Chapter 1

* Para 2 (r) defines a “person with benchmark disability” as an individual who has at least 40% of a specified disability, where the disability has not been defined in measurable terms, or includes an individual with a disability that has been quantified in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority.

* Para 2 (s) defines a “person with disability” as an individual who experiences a long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairment that, in combination with barriers, restricts their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others.

* Para 2 (zc) defines “specified disability” as the disabilities listed in the Schedule (Annexure – I).

Office Memorandum dated 29 August 2018:

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, issued Office Memorandum No. F. No. 34-02/2015-DD-III on 29 August 2018, regarding the conduct of written examinations for individuals with specified disabilities, as defined in Section 2(r) of the RPwD Act, 2016. The relevant paragraphs of this Office Memorandum for reference are as follows:

* Para IV. The provision of a scribe/reader/lab assistant should be granted to any individual with a benchmark disability, as defined under section 2(r) of the RPwD Act, 2016, who experiences limitations in writing, including speed, if they choose to avail of this assistance.

* For individuals with benchmark disabilities such as blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA), and cerebral palsy, the option of a scribe/reader/lab assistant will be provided, should the individual wish to use this support.

* For individuals in other categories of benchmark disabilities, the provision of a scribe/reader/lab assistant can be granted upon submission of a certificate from the Chief Medical Officer, Civil Surgeon, or Medical Superintendent of a government healthcare institution. This certificate should confirm that the individual has a physical limitation preventing them from writing and that a scribe is necessary for them to take the examination, as per the proforma in Annexure – II.

* If a candidate is permitted to bring their own scribe, the scribe’s qualification must be one level lower than that of the candidate taking the examination. The candidate wishing to use their own scribe must provide the scribe’s details as per the proforma in Annexure-III.

Office Memorandum dated 10 August 2022:

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, issued an Office Memorandum No. F. No. 29-6/2019-DD-III on 10th August 2022 regarding the conduct of written examinations for individuals with specified disabilities as defined under Section 2(s) of the RPwD Act, 2016, but not under Section 2(r) (i.e., persons with less than 40% disability who face difficulties in writing). The relevant sections of this memorandum are as follows:

* Para 3 (b). The provision of a scribe and/or additional time will be provided exclusively to individuals who experience difficulty in writing, provided they submit a certificate from a qualified medical authority at a Government healthcare institution, confirming that the person has limitations in writing and requires a scribe to assist in the examination. This certificate should follow the format outlined in Annexure-IV.

* Para 3 (c). The medical authority responsible for issuing the certification, as mentioned above, should consist of a multi-member team, including the following:

. Chief Medical officer/Civil Surgeon /Chief District Medical Officer, Chairperson

.Orthopaedic/PMR specialist

.Neurologist, if available*

. Clinical Psychologist/Rehabilitation Psychologist/ Psychiatrist/Special Educator

. Occupational therapist, if available*

. Any other expert based on the condition of the candidate as may be nominated by the Chairperson.

* (* The Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Chief District Medical Officer should make every effort to include neurologists and occupational therapists from the nearest district or Medical College/Institute, if they are not available within the district.)

* The candidate must provide the details of the scribe in the undertaking form as specified in Annexure-V.

Scribe and Compensatory Time

* The candidate has the option to choose their own scribe, reader, or lab assistant, or request the examination body to provide one. The examining body may also create a panel of scribes, readers, or lab assistants at the district, division, or state level, based on the needs of the examination. In such cases, candidates should be given the opportunity to meet the assigned scribe two days before the examination to ensure that the scribe is suitable.

* The term “extra time” or “additional time” currently used should be replaced with “compensatory time,” which should not be less than 20 minutes per hour of the examination for candidates using a scribe, reader, or lab assistant. All candidates with benchmark disabilities eligible for a scribe, as per the guidelines in para IV of Para 2.2.2, should be granted a minimum of one hour of additional time for a 3-hour exam, whether or not they use the scribe facility. If the exam duration is less than an hour, the additional time should be provided on a pro-rata basis, with a minimum of 5 minutes, and in multiples of 5 minutes.

Note – Both the guidelines, dated 29 August 2018 (for PwBDs) and 10 August 2022 (for PwDs), also include other crucial aspects, such as permitting the use of assistive devices, ensuring proper seating arrangements, and making examination centers accessible, all of which will be adhered to.

* The scribe will assist the candidate by reading the questions and/or entering the answers as instructed by the candidate. The scribe will NOT explain the questions or offer any suggestions for solutions.

* It should be noted that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will provide the scribe if requested by the candidate.

* If it is discovered at any point that a candidate used a scribe and/or received compensatory time without having the required level of disability, the candidate will be disqualified from the evaluation, ranking, counselling, and admission processes. If the candidate has already been admitted to any institution, their admission will be revoked.

* The Physical Disability certificate (Unique Disability Identification – UDID) issued by the authorized medical authority must be uploaded in the NEET (UG) – 2025 Online Application Form.

NOTE :-

* The NTA does not allow any changes to the category or sub-category (PwD/PwBD status) after the submission of the Online Application Form. No modifications will be accepted after the declaration of NTA Score for NEET (UG) – 2025. Therefore, candidates are advised to carefully fill in the category/sub-category section.

* The degree of “specified disability” in a person will be assessed according to the “Guidelines for assessing the extent of specified disability in individuals under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.”

* Candidates should be aware that the benefit of reservation will only be granted after document verification. If it is found at any stage that a candidate has provided false, fake, or incorrect documents or has given misleading or incomplete information to claim reservation, the candidate will be excluded from all admission procedures. If such a candidate has already been admitted, their admission will be canceled.

NOTES :

* The reservation benefits for admission will be provided only to those classes, castes, or tribes listed in the official Central List published by the Government of India periodically.

* The reservation will apply solely to the castes and tribes included in the relevant central list of corresponding states, as published by the Government of India (websites: http://socialjustice.nic.in and https://ncst.nic.in/).

Reservation in Central Institutes / Universities

* The Government of India’s reservation policy applies to the NEET (UG) Examination. As per this policy, Central Universities and Institutions reserve the following seats: 10% for the General-Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS), 15% for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC) from the Non-Creamy Layer (NCL), and 5% of seats for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) under Horizontal Reservation.

* For seats allocated by State Medical Colleges, Universities, Institutions, or Private Medical Colleges under the State Quota, the reservation policy set by the respective State Government will be applicable.

Guidelines for PwBD Candidates (For Admission purpose)

* Candidates with a disability will be eligible for admission to medical courses against 5% of the total seats, following the criteria outlined in the Regulation on Graduate Medical Education (1997), as amended over time (refer to Appendix-VI).

* A list of designated disability centers is provided in Appendix-VII-B.

* For AIIMS: In line with the RPwD Act 2016, PwBD reservation will be applicable, subject to assessment by the Medical Board of the Institute to determine eligibility.

* Candidates who believe they are eligible for this category should confirm their eligibility by undergoing an examination at any Government Medical College, District Hospital, or Government Hospital. These institutions will issue a Disability Certificate in accordance with Chapter VII of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017. The certificate will follow the Schedule of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and the Guidelines for assessing the extent of specified disability as notified by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 4th January 2018. This certificate does not guarantee admission to a medical course under the PwBD Quota. It is solely for determining if a candidate can apply to NTA for NEET (UG) – 2025 under the PwBD Quota.

* After selection under the PwBD Category, candidates must present a Disability Certificate issued by the Disability Assessment Board, which will evaluate the candidate based on the criteria set by the Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, 1997, as amended on 13.05.2019. Therefore, after the result is declared, candidates must appear before the Disability Assessment Board to determine their eligibility to register or participate in the common online Counselling for medical course admissions. If the Disability Assessment Board deems a candidate ineligible according to the amended criteria of 14.05.2019, the candidate will not be allowed to register or participate in the Counselling, and any provisional allotment of a medical college will be considered fraudulent. Physical verification of all certificates, including academic and Disability Certificates, will take place only upon reporting for admission to the medical college.

* It is further clarified that only the certificates issued by the authorized Centres designated by DGHS will be accepted for admission to medical courses. Certificates issued by any other Government Medical College, District Hospital, or Government Hospital will not be considered.

* Likewise, the designated Counselling Authorities of State /UT Governments shall constitute Disability Assessment Boards/Centres for assessing the suitability of the candidate in reference to criteria prescribed under the Regulations on Graduate Medical Education (1997) as amended from time to time and shall notify the same on their respective websites.

* Similarly, the designated Counselling Authorities of State/UT Governments will establish Disability Assessment Boards/Centres to evaluate candidates based on the criteria outlined in the Regulations on Graduate Medical Education (1997), as amended periodically. These authorities will also publish relevant notifications on their respective websites.

* The admitting institutes will adhere to the reservation policy set by the government, which may be updated periodically. Candidates are encouraged to check for specific details during the admission process.

* As per the instructions from the NMC, “Mental Illness” has been removed from the list of disabilities. A new guideline was uploaded on the NMC portal under the CBME Guideline, 2023, on August 1, 2023. Candidates are advised to visit the portal for more information.

* The provisions regarding PwD reservation in medical courses, as outlined in the RPwD Act 2016, are applicable for the NEET UG examination. However, for admission to medical courses, the CBME guidelines issued by the NMC on August 1, 2023, will apply.

Instructions for Counselling by the MCC for MBBS and BDS Admission

1. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of the Directorate General of Health Services will conduct online counselling for Undergraduate Medical Courses. Details regarding the online counselling will be available exclusively on the MCC website (https://mcc.nic.in/UGCounselling/) for Undergraduate Medical/Dental Courses. Qualified candidates are encouraged to read the counselling-related information thoroughly and understand the necessary steps for participating in the counselling process.

2. The MCC is conducting counselling for the following:

* 15% All India Quota MBBS/BDS seats in states (Jammu & Kashmir will join the counselling from 2025-26 as per the information provided by authorities).

* 100% MBBS/BDS seats at BHU (OPEN).

* 100% MBBS seats at AIIMS across India (Open).

* JIPMER Open seats (Puducherry/Karaikal) and Internal seats (Domicile).

* AMU Open and Internal seats.

* 85% Internal quota/domicile seats for DU/I.P. University (VMMC/ABVIMS/ESIC Dental).

* Jamia Open seats – Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Millia Islamia) and Internal seats.

* 15% All India Quota seats for ESIC and Insured Persons quota seats.

* AFMC – Registration only.

* 100% B.Sc. (Nursing) seats in selected Central B.Sc. Nursing Institutes.

7. Candidates from the creamy layer or those not included in the Central List of OBC are advised to select the Unreserved/General category.

8. The disability section in the MCC chapter states that for participation in MCC counselling, candidates should refer to the disability certificate mentioned in the MCC Information Bulletin. This certificate must be issued by one of the 15 designated boards authorized to issue disability certificates.

Syllabus of the Test

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the syllabus for NEET (UG) – 2025. The question paper will be structured based on this syllabus, which can be found in Appendix-III and is available on the NMC website at: (https://www.nmc.org.in/MCIRest/open/getDocument?path=/Documents/Pu

Pattern of the Test

The NEET (UG) – 2025 test pattern includes subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology). As per the public notice dated 25.01.2025, the exam will revert to the pre-COVID format. The question paper will contain 180 compulsory questions, which candidates must complete within 180 minutes. These updates have been incorporated into the NEET (UG) – 2025 test structure.

The pattern for the NEET (UG) – 2025 examination for admission in the Session 2025-26 is as follows:

Important Points To Note

• Candidates must select the correct or most appropriate answer for each question. The marking scheme is as follows:
  • Correct or most appropriate answer: +4 marks
  • Incorrect answer: -1 mark
  • Unanswered question: 0 marks
• While every effort will be made to ensure that each question has one unique answer, in case, it is found that a question has more than one option, it will be dealt in following manner:
  • If more than one option is found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
  • If all options are found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
  • If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a Question is dropped then all candidates who have appeared will be given four marks (+4) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

Mode of Examination

Candidates are informed that NEET (UG) – 2025 will be conducted as a single-day, single-session exam in pen-and-paper mode, similar to the 2024 examination.

Duration of Test

• The test duration will be three hours (03:00 hrs). PwBD candidates with physical limitations affecting writing ability will be granted an additional one hour of compensatory time, regardless of whether they opt for a scribe or not.
• Candidates with benchmark disabilities, as defined under Section 2(r) of the RPwD Act, 2016, and possessing a Disability Certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure-V and I), are eligible for the following accommodations:
  • Scribe Assistance: Candidates with physical limitations that prevent them from writing may avail the facility of a scribe, provided it is certified by a CMO, Civil Surgeon, or Medical Superintendent of a government healthcare institution. If a candidate opts to use their own scribe, they must submit an undertaking in the format specified in Annexure-III.
  • Additional Time: A compensatory time of one hour will be granted for the three-hour exam, regardless of whether the candidate avails the scribe facility.
• A candidate with a disability, as defined under Section 2(s) of the RPwD Act, 2016, and possessing a certificate of limitation to write in the prescribed format (Annexure-IV), will be eligible for the scribe facility and/or compensatory time.

Medium of the Question Papers

In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), NEET (UG) – 2025 will be conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

• Candidates can opt for a Question Paper in any one of the following 13 languages:

• The medium of the Question Paper must be selected carefully while filling out the Application Form, as changes will not be allowed once submitted.
• Candidates choosing English will receive the Test Booklet in English only.
• Candidates selecting Hindi will receive a bilingual Test Booklet in English and Hindi.
• Candidates opting for Regional Languages will receive the Test Booklet in both English and their selected Regional Language.
  • Example: If a candidate selects Tamil, the Test Booklet will be in English and Tamil.
• In case of any discrepancies in the translation of a question, the English version will be considered final, and the decision of NTA will be binding.
• Candidates qualifying for NEET (UG) – 2025 will be eligible for All India Quota and State Government/Institute quotas, regardless of their chosen exam medium, provided they meet other eligibility criteria.

Information Bulletin Neet (UG)-2025

1. Candidates can apply for NEET (UG) – 2025 only through the online mode on the official website: https://neet.nta.nic.in/.
2. The application form must be submitted online through the NTA website, and submissions through any other mode will not be accepted.
3. Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application.
4. It is important to carefully follow the instructions provided in the Information Bulletin and on the NTA website. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
5. Candidates must provide their own or their parent’s/guardian’s email ID and mobile number in the application form, as all official communication from NTA will be sent via email or SMS to the registered details. NTA will not be responsible for any issues caused by incorrect contact information.
6. Instructions for filling Online Application Form:

• Download the Information Bulletin and a sample Application Form.
• Go through them carefully to confirm your eligibility before applying.

• Step 1: Registration Form:
  • Begin by registering for the application form. A system-generated Application Number will be assigned.
  • Enter the required personal details carefully.
  • Create a password, select a security question, and provide an answer (in lowercase).
  • Once the initial details are submitted, your Application Number will be generated. This number is essential for completing the remaining steps and for any future reference or communication.
  • For future logins, you can directly access your application using the Application Number and Password you created.
• Step 2: Application Form:
  • Candidates can log in using their system-generated Application Number and the Password they created to complete the application form. This includes entering detailed personal information, selecting the exam language and preferred exam cities, providing educational qualification details, and uploading necessary images and documents (if required).
  • Candidates must upload scanned copies of their recent passport-size photograph (taken after January 1, 2025), signature, and fingerprint impressions of both hands, including thumbs. Additionally, they need to submit a Citizenship Certificate (if applicable), a Social Category Certificate or proof of application for the same, and their Class X Marksheet and Passing Certificate. If the marks are in CGPA/Grades, an equivalency certificate must be provided, converting them into a percentage and clearly indicating the date of birth (DOB). Candidates with disabilities must also upload their PwBD/PwD Certificate, wherever applicable.
  • The recent passport-size photograph must be in color, with 80% of the face visible (without a mask), including ears, against a white background.
  • All uploaded images must be in PDF/JPG/JPEG format and should be clearly legible.

• Step 3: Fee Payment:
  • After completing Step 1 (Registration) and Step 2 (Filling the Application Form), candidates must pay the required examination fee online using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI. Additional processing charges and GST will be applied as per the respective bank or payment gateway.
  • A Confirmation Page will be generated only after successful payment. If the Confirmation Page is not generated, candidates should contact the concerned bank or payment gateway using the helpline number or email provided in the Information Bulletin to verify the payment status or request a refund for any duplicate transactions.
• After successfully paying the application fee, candidates should download, save, and print a copy of the Confirmation Page for future reference. This page will only be available once the payment is successfully processed.
• Candidates can complete all three steps (Registration, Form Submission, and Fee Payment) either together or at different times. However, the application will be considered successfully submitted, and the candidate’s candidature will be confirmed only after the prescribed application fee is successfully received.

7. Candidates must carefully review and ensure that all the information entered in their online application form is accurate.

8.They should also verify that they have provided the correct email address and mobile number. During registration, candidates must enter the OTP received on their registered mobile number, and before making the payment, they need to verify another OTP sent to their registered email address.

9. A copy of the Confirmation Page, Scanned OMR, and NEET (UG) 2025 Scorecard will be sent to both the candidate’s and their Parent/Guardian’s registered email addresses as mentioned in the application form.

10. Once the Confirmation Page is generated, details such as Candidate’s Name, Contact Information, Address, Parent/Guardian Details, Category, PwBD/PwD Status, Educational Qualifications, Date of Birth, Exam City Preferences, and Gender will be considered final and cannot be changed under any circumstances. NTA will not accept any requests for modifications in these details after submission.

11. Once the application process is complete, NTA does not edit, modify, or alter any information provided by candidates under any circumstances. Requests for changes will not be accepted after submission. Therefore, candidates should carefully review and enter accurate details in the application form to avoid any issues.

12. NTA will not be responsible for any consequences resulting from incorrect information provided by the candidate in their online application form.

13. Candidates must ensure that the email address and mobile number provided in their online application form are their own, as all important communication and updates from NTA will be sent only to the registered email and mobile number via email or SMS. NTA will not be responsible for any miscommunication or lack of communication due to incorrect contact details or if the candidate provides someone else’s information instead of their own. To stay updated, candidates should regularly check their emails and visit the NTA website for the latest notifications.

14. Candidates must also appear for the exam at their own expense at the designated examination center, as mentioned on their Admit Card, which will be issued by NTA through its official website.

NOTE :

• If Step 3 (Payment Process) is not completed, the Online Application Form will remain incomplete and will be rejected. No further communication regarding such cases will be entertained.
• The entire NEET (UG) 2025 application process is conducted online, including uploading documents, fee payment, and generation of the Confirmation Page and Admit Card. Candidates do not need to send any physical documents to NTA via Post, Fax, WhatsApp, Email, or in person.
• NTA provides an additional platform through UMANG and DigiLocker to help candidates download important documents such as the Confirmation Page, Admit Card, and Scorecard. Instructions on this will be shared later. Candidates should regularly check their email and visit the NTA website for updates.
• The Government of India and NTA may use the data provided by candidates for internal purposes like research, training, analysis, and other permissible activities.
• Candidates must fill only one application form and carefully enter their details, especially their mobile number and email address. It is recommended to use their own contact details or those of their parents/guardians, ensuring they have regular access to these for receiving important updates.

15. Any request to change the Question Paper Medium, Examination Centre, Date, and Time mentioned on the Admit Card will not be considered under any circumstances.

16. Candidates are advised to take 6-8 passport-size coloured photographs with a white background. These photographs will be required for uploading on the Online Application Form, examination, and Counselling/Admission processes to ensure consistency across all documents related to NEET (UG) – 2025.

17. All candidates appearing for NEET (UG) – 2025 must regularly check updates on the following official websites until the final round of counselling is completed:

18. The information provided by candidates regarding their state is for reference only and does not confirm domicile status. This must be reaffirmed by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) of the respective State.

20. It is mandatory to provide the Mobile Number and E-mail ID of a Parent or Guardian while submitting the online Application Form for NEET (UG) – 2025, as a copy of the Confirmation Page and Final Score Card will also be sent to them.

NOTE :

• Candidates are strongly advised to retain their Confirmation Page, Admit Card, and Score Card of NEET (UG) – 2025 as these documents will not be available after 31st October 2025 (as per the weeding-out policy).
• All candidates must ensure that the details entered in their online Application Form (such as name, parent’s name, gender, date of birth, category, PwBD/PwD status, contact details, photographs, fingerprints, signature, choice of exam cities, etc.) are accurate and belong to them.
  • Candidates should be extremely careful while filling out their application form, as NTA will not allow any modifications to the entered details or uploaded images at any stage.
  • No requests for changes will be accepted via Post, Fax, WhatsApp, Email, or In-person submissions.
  • Once the Confirmation Page is generated, all details will be considered final.
• Candidates are not permitted to bring the following items into the Examination Hall/Room:
  • Stationery items (Instruments, Geometry box, Pencil box, Paper, Textbooks, or written materials)
  • Personal belongings (Handbag, Purse, Eatables, Water bottle)
  • Electronic devices (Mobile Phone, Earphone, Microphone, Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, Electronic Watches with a calculator feature, or any other metallic/electronic gadget).
• If, at any point, it is discovered that a candidate has used or uploaded someone else’s photograph, signature, or certificate(s) in their Application Form or Admit Card, or has tampered with their Admit Card, Result, or Scorecard, such actions will be classified as Unfair Means (UFM) Practices, and strict measures will be taken as per the Information Bulletin on UFM Practices.
