    Counseling Procedure

    How to take admission for state quota?

    The prospectus and schedule for MBBS and BDS state quota admissions are released by the Directorate of Medical Education and Training(UPDGME), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh after the NEET 2024 results. The websites to be referred to for the admission-related updates for Uttar Pradesh are https://upneet.gov.in/default.aspx# and http://dgme.up.gov.in/. Through this, the candidates are given admissions by conducting the first round of counseling followed by a second round of counseling and a mop-up round of counseling. 

    The registration fees for the first and second rounds of counseling are 2000/- for all the categories, which is non-refundable and all the candidates must register for the mop-up round of counseling. 

    The registration fee for the mop-up round of counseling is 1000/- for all the categories.

    During the registration procedure, the nodal center is to be selected by the candidate where the admission formalities will be completed. The candidate must select the nodal center near them out of the given options. After completing the registration \, and document verification, the security money demand draft(DD) is to be submitted at the nodal center, which is as follows: 

    Government Medical/Dental College – 30,000/- Private Medical College – 2,00,000/- Private Dental College – 1,00,000/- (Only offline payment will be accepted). If any candidate wants to participate in all Government Medical/Dental College and Private Medical/Dental College then Security money Rs. 2,00,000/- (Rupees two lakhs) will have to be deposited. Only after depositing the demand draft (DD) of security fees, the candidate can fill the choice for the first round. After filling in the choices the candidate must lock the choices otherwise, they will not be considered for allotment of the seat. Registration will not be completed till online payment has been made. Security fees not submitted by the candidate will not be permitted for Document verification and choice filling. 

    First-Round Counseling 

    This counseling is online and there’s no free exit in Uttar Pradesh. In case you get a seat and you want to join it, then you can join and give the option of upgrade and you’ll be able to upgrade it in the 2nd round. After the seat allotment in the first round, one-year tuition fees and original documents will have to be deposited in the allotted colleges in case of allotment on a government seat and by visiting the nodal center in case of allotment on a private seat. 

    Second Round Counseling

    The second round of counseling will be conducted to fill the empty seats after the first round of counseling. Round 2 shall be held on-line. In case you have joined the seat within the second round of MCC, at that point you cannot take part in the second round of UP. New enrollment will be opened in the second round. Such candidates whose Security money has been forfeited in the first round, then they can take part in the second round by depositing Security money again. In the second round, the seat of the first round can also be updated. There’s no need to deposit Security money again. After upgrading the seat within the second round, your first-round seat will be designated to any other candidate. You will have to complete the admission formalities on the upgraded seat in the second round. In case the seat isn’t upgraded in the second round, the seat of the first round will remain the same. But in the second round, if the seat of the first round is designated again, at that point they will have to complete the admission customs again, otherwise, the admission will be canceled and that seat will end up empty and will be added to the counseling of the Mop Up round. Those Candidates who are allotted seats in the first round of counseling, have taken admission, and do not want to upgrade themselves are required not to fill the choices in the second round of counseling. Candidates who are already admitted to any college are required NOT to make the same choices as their already admitted college.

    Mop-Up Round Counseling

    The mop-up round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the second round of counseling. Mop-up round 2 is being held offline. That means that the candidates will have to be present at the time of counseling. Admission to the vacant seats is given based on merit and choice of the candidate. Only candidates who have not been allotted any seat in the first and second rounds of counseling can participate in the mop-up round.  Candidates who had not registered in the first and second rounds can also register and participate in this round of counseling. The documents will be verified on the spot. The candidates have to provide the original as well as one self-attested photocopy of all the documents at the time of verification otherwise they will not be allowed to participate in the mop-up round.

    The candidates who had already registered in the first and second rounds of counseling also have to register again in the mop-up round by paying the registration fees of 1000/- and they are not required to deposit the security money. If the candidate has joined the seat through the India quota i.e.15% then the candidate can not participate in the mop-up round of UP. Candidates who have allotted/admitted/not joined/resigned from any MBBS seat in UP counseling will not be eligible for the Mop-Up round. Those candidates who have already been admitted to the BDS course can participate in the Mop Up round to upgrade their course from BDS to MBBS after resigning their seats and have to reproduce original documents/certificates for this, otherwise, they will not be eligible for the same, their security and tuition fees will be automatically forfeited and the candidate has to compulsorily submit the security and tuition fees bank draft again at the time of  Mop Up round. After allotment candidates should deposit tuition fees/difference of tuition fees amount to the allotted college counter on-spot during mop up round. 

    Stray Vacancy Round Counseling (Extended Mop-Up Round):

    This round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the Mopup round of MBBS/BDS counseling. These seats are filled by the counseling authority only. The candidates who have already registered for the mop-up round are eligible for this round of counseling. Candidates who have been allotted/admitted/not joined/resigned from MBBS Seat in First/Second and Mop Up Round counseling will not be eligible for this round. The candidates who are already admitted to any medical college in India through MCC/any state counseling are not eligible to participate in this round of counseling. The seats left vacant after the Extended Mop-up round of MBBS of Private Medical College will be transferred to the concerned college and these seats shall be filled by the college itself. After the extended Mop-up round of BDS of Private Dental College, counseling of Mop up – 2 will be conducted by the counseling authority to fill the vacant seats, after that the vacant seats are transferred to the concerned Dental College and shall be filled by the concerned college.

Other than medical courses, there are different courses offered in Sikkim such as management courses, bachelor’s courses, etc.  Until 1994, there were just three institutions in the State: Sikkim Government College in Tadong, Sikkim Government Law College located in Burtuk, and the Sikkim Institute of Nyingma Higher Studies at Deorali. Today, the State proudly features one Central University, ten Government Colleges, four Private Universities, and five Private Colleges.

    Counseling procedure

    Education Department, Government of Sikkim follows a Common Counseling procedure that is conducted under the direction and control of the state government of Sikkim. The relevant counseling information will be available at https://smu.edu.in/smu.html or https://www.sikkimhrdd.org/. During the physical counseling procedure, the physical presence of the candidate is mandatory. If unavoidable circumstances prevent a candidate from being physically present for the counseling, he/she may authorize another individual to represent him/her at the counseling.

    The representative must carry the authorization letter and must bring all the documents and the fees mentioned in the prospectus at the time of the Education Department Government of Sikkim. Absence/late reporting of the candidate or his/her representative at the indicated reporting time/attendance time and date will result in the instantaneous forfeiture of any claim for a seat. The choice of course made by the candidate/ representative is final and binding and cannot be altered under any circumstances.

    Only the candidate/representative will be allowed into the counseling hall. The candidates will be called in the order of their ranks and offered the seats available, then. Online Counseling Apart from Physical Counseling, the Education Department Government of Sikkim, may also follow Online Counseling for Admissions depending on the situation.

    Online counseling procedures are as follows: 

    1. For updates, the candidates should visit their application portal frequently.
    2. The counseling dates mentioned in the Education Department Government of Sikkim website/email communication are to be strictly followed and no extension of dates for counseling/admission will be permitted. Waitlist Candidates will be waitlisted as per their rank order in the counseling. Candidates who opt only to be waitlisted need not pay any fee until they receive the selection intimation from the institution that they have been selected for admission from the waiting list as a consequence of withdrawal or cancellation of admission of any originally admitted candidate.

    The admission committee for professional undergraduate medical educational courses in Gujarat was established in 2008 under the Gujarat Professional Educational Medical Colleges or Institution (regulation of Admission and fixation of fees) Act,2007. 

    This act was passed to make special provisions for the regulation of admissions in professional medical educational courses in the state and the fixation of fees in such colleges or institutions and for matters connected therewith. This committee regulated the admission of professional medical/dental/ayurveda/homeopathy/naturopathy degree courses. 

    Eligibility criteria

    • Candidates must have passed the 12th class from CBSE/ ICSE/ Gujarat or another recognized board of education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
    • Candidates must have cleared NEET 2024 to appear for Gujarat MBBS Admission. As per the below-given percentage criteria: 
    • Unreserved or general category candidates must have an aggregate score of 50% in class 12 boards.
    • 40% aggregate score is the minimum requirement for reserved category students, including physically disabled students belonging to the reserved background. 
    • Physically disabled students from unserved categories will need a minimum aggregate of 45%.
    • Candidates seeking participation in Gujarat MBBS admission need not pass class 10 from the state, according to the interim order issued by the Gujarat High Court.
    • Candidates just need to possess a Gujarat domicile to participate or must fulfill the following criteria: 
    • Candidates who have passed their 10+2 from a school or institute in Gujarat will also be eligible for admission under the state quota even if they do not possess a domicile. 
    • Candidates who have completed 10+2 from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) based outside the state of Gujarat are also eligible, provided they have completed education class 8 from any of the JNVs in Gujarat.
    • The candidate must be at least 17 years of age. 
    • A ‘No Objection Certificate’ issued by the current institute will also need to be submitted to the Admission Committee in such cases and candidates can withdraw their documents to change course and institute through counseling.
    • Indian citizens, OCIs, and NRIs can apply for Gujarat MBBS Admission 2024 based on NEET UG 2024 scores. 
    • NRI candidates applying for admission will have to provide a Provisional Eligibility Certificate from the respective university within one month of securing admission. Admission of NRI candidates will be done under management or NRI quota.
    • Candidates whose parents are not Indian citizens but are of Indian origin will have to provide submission proof to ACPMEC before counseling to secure admission to Gujarat medical colleges. These candidates will also have to provide a certificate to prove that they have acquired Indian citizenship by the end of July.

    Counseling procedure

    How do you take admission for the state quota?

    After the results of NEET 2024, the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Courses (ACPMEC) will issue the prospectus for MBBS/BDS admission. 

    The candidate must fill out the online registration form available on the official website which is https://medadmgujarat.org/ug/home.aspx and they have to pay a non-refundable payment of Rs.200 through an online mode of payment to purchase the PIN. 

    Other than this, the candidate can purchase a PIN by paying fees at the post office and bank in Gujarat state. To get admission in Gujarat candidates from Gujarat or students who have passed classes 10 and 12 from any school in Gujarat state, whether from Gujarat Board or CBSE are eligible. While filling out the application form, prior appointment will have to be taken for document verification and document verification will have to be done at the Help Center. The candidate must take the Registration Acknowledgment Slip from the Nodal officer at the Help Center. 

    After that, the provisional merit list will be published by the counseling authority and later the choice will have to be filled by the candidate on the portal. The choice will be automatically locked on the last date. In this, admission is given by ACPMEC by conducting first-round, second-round counseling online and mop-up round counseling offline.

    Note: The registration can only be done in the first round.

    First Round of Counseling 

    The first round of counseling will be conducted in an online mode, in which seat allotment will be conducted to fill the vacant seats of all Government/Private Colleges of state quota as per provisional merit list, if a candidate has been allotted a seat in the first round of counseling then allotment letter and fees challan may be download by logging on the portal. The tuition fees have to be paid on the official website of ACPUGMEC.

    If the candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotted to them in the first round they can get it upgraded in the next rounds of counseling. If no seat has been allotted to the candidate in the first round they have to wait for the next rounds. If the candidate wants to cancel the admission after submitting the documents at the help center, they can do so, and they will be eligible for further rounds. The first round is a free exit round. 

    Second Round of Counseling

    The second round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the first round of counseling. This round will also be conducted online. In this round, the seats of the first round can be upgraded. If the candidate’s seat gets upgraded in this round then they will have to report to the help center. 

    If the candidate has joined the seat in the second round of MCC then they cannot participate in the second round. If no seat has been allotted to the candidate in this round, they have to wait for the mop-up round. To participate in the second round, a fresh choice has to be filled on the portal as per the schedule.

    Mop Up round of Counseling 

    This round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the second round of counseling. This round is conducted in offline mode. All those candidates whose names were on the provisional merit list are eligible for this round. To participate in the mop-up round, candidates have to log in to the portal, give online consent, and appear on the given schedule. 

    All the candidates who had joined the seats in the first and second rounds of counseling are eligible to get their seats upgraded in this round. The candidates who did not get any seats allotted in any of the rounds are also eligible for this round.

    • A candidate who is a citizen of India has completed his 12th & 10th from school which is situated within Gujarat (the school should be established under the law of the Government of Gujarat)
    • Candidate have to pass 12th (Theory + Practical) with following marks:

    • For the General & Economic Weaker Section (EWS) category – a minimum of 50%
    •  For Person with Disability (PwD candidate) in general & EWS category – minimum of 45%
    •  For Scheduled Cast (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST), Social and Economic Backward Class (SEBC), and PwD candidate (SC, ST, SEBC category) = minimum of 40%

    Ans.  No, you can not apply for a government/management quota. You can apply for the NRI quota only if you are eligible for the NRI quota as per guidelines. If you are passed 10th and/12th from outside Gujarat but within India, you can apply for 15%AIQ seats of BAMS/ BHMS courses of Self Financed Ayurveda/Homoeopathy Colleges.
