    Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University is a state university established in 2014 by the government of Uttarakhand under the  Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Medical Education University Act, 2014. It is located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It is approved by the university grant commission and it offers degrees and diploma programs in the streams of Medical, Dental, Nursing, and Para-Medical Science at UG and PG levels. HNBUMU houses 16 affiliated colleges, including three medical colleges and paramedical colleges each, and 13 nursing colleges.

    Eligibility criteria 

    • A minimum of 50% (for the general category) is required in class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. 
    • Reserved category students must score a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in their 10+2 exams.
    • Candidates should be at least 17 years of age to apply for Uttarakhand MBBS Admission 2024.

    Counseling procedure

    How do you take admission for the state quota?

    The prospectus and schedule for MBBS and BDS admission will be issued by Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University, Dehradun after the result of a NEET 2024. The website to be referred to for admission-related updates is https://www.hnbumu.ac.in/ and the online application has to be filled out there. Through this, admission is given by conducting first round counseling, second round counseling and mop up round counseling and fresh registration shall be opened in every round. While filling out the online application form, registration fees, and security money will have to be deposited online which will be as follows:- 

    Security Money – 

    1) Govt. colleges Rs-10,000/-(5,000/-For SC/ST/OBC of Uttarakhand domicile only.)

     2) Private Medical colleges Rs-1,00,000/-for all categories. 

    3) Private Dental Colleges Rs. 10,000/-for all categories.

    The online counseling registration Fee is Rs.3,000/-(For Round I and Round II ) and Rs. 2,000/-for Mop-up Round for all categories.

    First Round of Counseling :

    The first round of seat allotment is online. If the candidate is allotted a seat in the first round then they have to take admission on the allotted seat. There is no problem if the candidate does not want to be admitted to the allotted seat. This makes them eligible for the second round and mop-up round because the 1st round is a free exit.  If no seat is allotted, the candidate is eligible for the 2nd round. A seat can be upgraded, even after taking admission in the 1st round.

    Second Round of Counseling :

    Fresh registration is opened again in the second round. During this round, the seat of the first round can also be upgraded.  Online seat allotment also happens in the second round. You have to take admission in the allotted seat, otherwise, you can participate in the Mop Up round also, but the security money would be forfeited. Registration fees and Security Money Online would have to be deposited again by the participant in this condition. All candidates need to re-register and fill fresh choices in this round. Registration fees and security money submitted by participants in the first round do not have to be deposited again. 

    MOP UP Round of Counseling :

    Fresh registration is open in this round. Candidates who were not allotted any seats in the first and second rounds are eligible for it. Those who have already been allotted seats in the 1st or 2nd round are not eligible for this. Candidates are eligible for this round if they do not join the allotted seat in the 2nd round but they would have to deposit the security money again. Candidates wanting to participate in the mop-up round need to re-register and fill fresh choices. They have to pay 2000/- registration fees for this. But if you have deposited security money in the first round and second rounds, there is no need to deposit it again.
