Who Can Apply for Assam State Quota Seats?
To be eligible for Assam MBBS/BDS Admission, a candidate must :
- Be a citizen of India Be a permanent resident of Assam (20 years minimum for parent/guardian)
- Have studied from Class VII to XII in Assam (Exemption: If parents were posted outside Assam by govt. departments)
- Be 17–25 years old as of 31st December 2025 (Relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC by 3 years)
- Have qualified for NEET 2025
- Have scored:
- 60% aggregate (PCB) in Class 12 for the General Category
- 50% aggregate (PCB) for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC candidates
Application & Selection Process
Declaration Form: After NEET results, eligible students must submit a declaration form on www.dme.assam.gov.in
Counselling List: DME will release a provisional list based on NEET ranks & documentation
Physical Counselling: Candidates must appear in person with original documents.
Seat Allotment: Based on merit, reservation, and college preference. Medical Fitness: A final medical check by a board is mandatory for admission

Do I have to appear for counselling physically?
Yes. Counselling is in-person and mandatory. Bring originals and self-attested photocopies.
What happens if I miss my counselling date?
Missing the scheduled counselling without justified cause can lead to loss of seat.
Are all reservations applicable only within the 85% state quota?
Yes. The remaining 15% seats are filled via All India Quota (AIQ) through MCC.
What if I surrender my seat late?
You’ll have to pay a penalty of ₹3,00,000 (MBBS) or ₹2,00,000 (BDS) if you surrender the seat after the final admission date.
