Ruxmaniben Deepchand Gardi Medical College (RDGMC), Ujjain, steeped in a rich tradition of learning, served as the backdrop for Lord Krishna’s education at Sant Sandipani\’s Ashram on the banks of the Kshipra River. Dating back to 1954, Vikram University has been a venerable institution in the city, which today boasts many schools and colleges, including numerous professional establishments. In 2001, a dedicated group of trustees brought to fruition the dream of establishing Madhya Pradesh\’s first private medical college, R D Gardi Medical College (RDGMC), as part of the Ujjain Charitable Trust Hospital and Research Centre.

Accredited by the Medical Council of India and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, RDGMC offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in eighteen subjects, including pioneering programs such as PG degrees in Dermatology, Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, and Psychiatry, a first in the state. In support of its rigorous academic standards, RDGMC operates a state-of-the-art 850-bed hospital, The Ujjain Charitable Trust Hospital, equipped with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic facilities, alongside a 850-bed hospital with 25 emergency beds on the Medical College Campus, providing all services free of charge.
